Professional Squash Player and Irish Number One

Atlanta Olympics headstand

After watching most of TOC at grand central station I left to Atlanta inspired to play! Fair to say I didn’t play great out there winning 1st round in a scrappy 3 zip and losing in the 1/4s to Andrew Waigh of Egypt ,,,,,, in another scrappy affair! On the + the body help up well and I woke up both mornings after the matches with the ability to put my socks on – no mean feat!

Some encouraging signs today for squash when judo was dropped for 2020 and a report on sky news called squash as favourite to step in! We can only hope the sport gets in and the recognition it deserves… I’d be an aul codger by then so little hope of being there as a player but for sure I’d love to go and watch it live!

Not played anything since Atlanta, the plan was to put in a mini pre season and get ready for march through till may with a busy schedule of events planned and so far alls going well on that front. Il share a few random sessions over the coming weeks to try out for the craic!

On a random note to sign off, I’m a big yoga advocate and very recently learned how to stand on my head!
